Staff Writer/Sub-editor

We are looking for a talented Staff Writer/Sub-editor to write and sub-edit brilliant copy across FMS Global Media’s roster of luxury lifestyle titles, as a key member of our fantastic creative team.


What will you be doing?

  • Researching, pitching, writing and sub-editing stories efficiently and to deadline
  • Establishing and maintaining the tone of each magazine
  • Ensuring the quality of copy across all titles
  • Establishing, adhering to and updating editorial style guides
  • Conducting interviews with case studies
  • Checking facts throughout articles to ensure accuracy
  • Working with the Group Editor, but also independently, to brainstorm editorial content ideas and creative approaches to clients’ marketing objectives
  • Contributing to picture research
  • New business pitch writing and other ad-hoc project work where necessary

What are we looking for?

  • A passion for excellent and engaging writing and journalism
  • The ability to write and edit quickly, accurately and beautifully
  • 3-4 years of experience in journalism and sub-editing

Project Manager

Based in Canary Wharf, London E14
Production
Salary: Competitive, based on experience

We are looking for a confident, proactive and organised client-facing Project Manager to work across FMS Global Media’s print and digital content projects, managing key accounts to a high level.


What will you be doing?

  • Working across three titles within FMS’s portfolio of contract publishing accounts you will be responsible for the end-to-end production, delivery and quality control of all creative projects, alongside the day-to-day management of the client relationship
  • Consistently communicating and coordinating with client contacts to ensure the smooth running and delivery of their projects on time and on budget
  • Working with the Group Editor, but also independently, to brainstorm editorial content ideas and creative approaches to clients’ marketing objectives
  • Commissioning and coordinating external freelancers, including journalists, photographers, proofreaders and art-workers, at every stage of the process
  • Working closely with the FMS Editorial, Production and Design Teams to ensure all teams are working concurrently towards the same, clearly defined objectives and deadlines
  • Coordinating photoshoots in studio and on location, where necessary and in partnership with the FMS Production Team
  • Proactively keeping on top of all team-members’ to-dos and communicating wider challenges/obstacles to the team
  • Maintaining day-to-day communications with all project-relevant PRs, pro-actively sourcing any missing contacts as necessary to achieve best quality options for content
  • Contributing thoroughly researched image credits, pricing information, and occasional copy
  • Working with the Editorial Intern to ensure the processing and inputting of data to the database for contributors across copy, photography and PR, plus distribution of all magazines and clippings to contributors on publication
  • Liaising with FMS Management Team to give and receive updates on client work plus overarching business matters on a monthly basis
  • New business pitch coordination and other ad-hoc project work where necessary

Advertising Sales Executives

Based in Canary Wharf, London E14
Print Display Role
£22k - £25K (+ target-based commission)

An opportunity has arisen in the sales team for an outstanding candidate who is enthusiastic, self-motivated and driven; with a positive proactive attitude, who thrives in a high-pressure performance and target-based sales environment.

The ideal candidate must have at least 12-18 months sales experience and having previously worked at a publishing house or a national press house; obtained basic sales training and experience working to set daily KPIs.

The role will initially be office based and involve the handling of a high number of outgoing calls. The individual must have excellent social and relationship building skills, whilst being able to both time-manage and account manage effectively across a range of luxury print titles. Additionally, the role will involve sourcing leads and chasing new business.
The candidate must have an excellent command of all Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc), as frequent tasks include: updating databases, writing proposals, and producing presentations to prospective clients. An understanding of digital media in its various forms is a definite advantage.

Creative Designer

Based in Canary Wharf, London E14
Design
£25K - £35K

FMS are looking for an ambitious and thought-driven Graphic Designer to join our busy design studio in 
Canary Wharf. You must have a minimum of 3 years experience of working in the industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working with editorial team to determine content/treatment for titles in the FMS portfolio.
  • Creative pitches.
  • Evolution of creative look and feel for luxury magazine titles as required including graphics and typography.
  • Design and layout of magazine pages.
  • Supervision of artwork process through to printers/web-ready pdf files.
  • Set up of photo shoots, including selection of photographers, locations and models and stylists.
  • Art directing photo shoots.

The successful candidate will have an impressive portfolio that showcases excellent layout and typography skills as well as your creative aptitude as applied to literature, and multi-channel marketing communications.

Digital Designer

Based in Canary Wharf, London E14
Design
£20K - £30K

FMS are looking for an exceptional digital designer who wants to develop their skills in a young and expanding creative environment. This role is an opportunity to deliver design creative across a broad spectrum of channels including; web, mobile, advertising and other online and offline medias.

Key Responsibilities

  • Designing for a variety of platforms including digital campaigns, websites, HTML newsletters, blog posts, banner ads, digital advertising screens and other collateral
  • Design mock ups and online preview links
  • Help design proposals and other external documents
  • Design and layout of magazine pages.
  • Design and develop the agencies own online presence
  • To keep up to date with all digital trends and emerging digital solutions

Skills & Experience required:

  • Experience delivering multiple projects on time and on budget
  • Knowledge of Digital Design - HTML/CSS, Web/App Design
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Dreamweaver, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop)
  • Knowledge of HTML (CSS) would be advantageous
  • Ability to archive and catalogue design projects / photography/video using correct programmes (Lightroom, Bridge, etc)
  • Excellent typographic, layout and design skills with an eye for keeping to brand guidelines
  • An understanding and interest in wider media, design, social media, digital marketing and editorial design trends
  • Experience working on a digital brand producing pixel perfect images and visuals
  • Knowledge of Microsite Office products, especially PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of print process and artwork for print would be beneficial
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to liaise with key stakeholders
  • Able to manage multiple projects and work independently
